““There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.””

You know what? I usually try to be diplomatic and respectful about this subject, but I’ve had it.
It is 2014. We should not be having this f**king conversation anymore. Why don’t we start teaching that Zeus created lightning. Or that the Mayan turtle god is responsible for floods. I’m sure that there are plenty of Christian believers out there who are nice people and mean well, but I’ll say it: if you literally believe in the bible, in creationism, that evolution never happened, that Noah sailed a big boat with every animal species, that some ancient book has anything whatsoever to do with life today… you are an absolute moron. By definition, you are incapable of using your brain. I honestly couldn’t care less if I’m offending anyone at this point.
I love that these same nutjobs who reject the scientific method are all driving cars, using computers, drinking purified water and pasteurized milk, living in insulated houses, etc etc etc etc etc. Because the scientific method works “sometimes”?
Can we ship all of these lunatics to a commune somewhere so they can praise their lord and leave the rest of in peace to actually have a productive society? Please?
