Rear ended by a guy speeding trying to whip around and pass someone on the right while playing with his phone, which he had the nerve to ask me to call right after the wreck cuz he couldn’t find it because it went flying out of his hand when he hit me………….. The front of the boat came through the back of the jeep in an explosion of glass. The wife and kiddo both had glass cuts and splinters. I was doing 65 in the slow lane (70mph limit). Imagine how fast he must have been going to hit this hard. Jeep sturdiness and a spare tire on the tailgate saved the life of my wife and kiddo. The wrecker operator said if not for the spare tire the boat would have carved the top half of the jeep in two. boat and motor are a crumpled mess, trailer twisted wreckage. completely totaled. The jeep back end is a disaster, frame all twisted up and probably totaled. The guy that hit us did have car insurance. He hit his head into his windshield so hard it cracked the glass. He told the police officer he was doing 70……

We’re all alive thanks to the toughness of a jeep. Don’t take your spare tires off your tailgate fellow jeepers, it can save your life.
